The 1957-59 Ghia limousines were based on the 2-door hardtop. 1960 and 1961 models were based on the 4-door sedan. As Imperial did not offer a 4-door sedan from 1962 to 1966, I believe the 1963-65 Ghia limous were based on the 4-door hardtop. The upper door frames were custom made on the Ghia limous as the doors tops curved up into the roof. They looked for a Ghia and were unable to find one. They made their own. out of a regular Crown. If you inspect the paused railroad track scene, you can see where the rear door used to be before they blanked it out. The B pillar looks wierd, too. Didn't they use pillared sedans (with aluminum window frames) as the basis for the Ghias? The guy that sources all the cars for movies like Fast & Furious wrote into the website awhile back looking for one. They were in a big rush and were willing to pay anything to get what they needed. Looks like a slap-dash job, and I wonder if they would have tarnished down a nice car to get it looking like that or if they would have left it alone. The real question is: What will become of that car? Anybody in LA interested in looking into it? Might be a fun car to roll around in. -Kenyon Jeff Ingraham <jeff_ingraham@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: Hi, This came into the webmonsters group and I looked at the trailer and I can't tell if it is really a Ghia or if it is a "made up" Ghia like 1960. I can't be sure. But... I am VERY nervous about the car stuck on the railroad tracks and the sound of a train coming. The thought of em destroying a 60 Ghia for a stupid movie is enough to make me sick. I guess I will have to wait and see!
