Your cruising RPM depends on more than the 727's gearing. It also depends on your rear end gears, wheel diameter and tire size, and to a lesser degree on any modifications you may have made to the engine. Ported heads and dual exhaust, for example, will lower your cruising RPM perceptibly by increasing the engine's efficiency and allowing more power to the rear wheels at a lower engine RPM than would otherwise be the case. All of the variables are customizable to an extent by mixing and matching. For Imperial owners there are quite a few rear axle gears to choose from, all of which fit inside the 8 3/4 " housing. I don't know enough about Bristol to tell you what your options are. Regarding the TF with overdrive -- there are a number of vendors on the web who can advise you regarding whether you can use the A518 in your car. IIRC, the case is longer, so at the very least you'd have to shorten your drive shaft. Here is an excellent link to a number of tech articles about the 727. Perhaps you can find something there that will lead you down a different path. The rest of their articles are pretty good, too, though most concern A, B and E body Mopars. There is a lot of useful information in the engine/transmission sections. http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Archive/auto.html -- David '91 K-Imperial driver '66 Crown Coupe project
