67 LeBaron

Congratulations on your purchase. The 60's LeBarons seem to be
under-represented on the list. You'll be glad to know that the 67 already
has front disk brakes.

This seems like a good message for me to jump in with my first post.

I admit the '67 I'm bringing home originally enticed me with its steel crank
440. A racer close to where the car has been stored wanted it just for that
reason, but hadn't gotten around to looking at it.

I was expecting a rusted out hulk when I first heard about it, but when I
got there, I found a really clean car. It is currently wearing a poor
repaint, but it's solid. After looking the car over, I couldn't let it
become an organ donor. It was abandoned in storage at a farm. It's been
sitting there for 15 years or so. The owner skipped town after having a
falling out with his family. At least that's what I've been able to piece
together after researching the VIN trying to find a title.

I still need to get the car home, and I have a whole lot of paperwork to do
to get the title for it, but it is possible. Once it is home, I'm sure I'll
be asking questions.

I know 2nd generation Barracudas quite well, and their Dart counterparts.
I'm familiar with the B-bodies, and E's, and even a little with the C's, but
the Imperial is new territory for me. What is the body code for an
Imperial? I'm pretty sure the '67 isn't a C-body even though it's a
unibody.

>From reading the articles on the website, it looks like I'll be in the
market for the '70-73 spindles and disk brakes. I prefer to drive my cars,
rather than have trailer queens. Besides, I don't own a truck big enough to
haul an Imperial!
