Do you want a car with a working top or just an open car?
If you want a convertible, you really should go get one, as they have a reinforced frame that is different from what you have and a bunch of work to duplicate, let alone duplicate correctly.
Want to change a regular car into a convertible? Want it to look good? That could cost more than just getting a convertible and would have terrible resale prospects. The real deal sell frequently for less than $10k, I think. More if you want a cream-puff.
You could take your car's top off and park it under cover, leaving it as a "parade car". That's a hack thing to do, but you get the same net result - open air motoring. Some people get mortified about cutting apart a good car, but I did it and really enjoyed the car that I got as a result of the surgery.
You can do that yourself for under $100 with pretty good results, and I can tell you how I did mine off list if you're interested, but that's not what you asked in your message.

Do you know anyone who will do a conversion for a 67 crown to a convertible?
