It's winter time and you probably have the heat on which warms up the thermal breaker in the switch even faster than normal. Until you get a "Rube Goldberg" device in the form of a headlight relay so the switch doesn't carry all the current for all the lights through the one tired circuit breaker, you will need to turn off the switch for a spell and once your lights get going again, turn off the heat and open the vent by your feet to keep the switch cool enough to get you limping home.
