If it isn't the original spare, he installed a perfect match for the tire and the wheel that should be there. That is the exact tire and wheel that the '63 Imperial came with. 

Wasn't someone asking about the original white wall very recently? That very tire is what was used on '62, '63 and '64 Imperials. My '63 still has an indentical spare tire, but it has been well used. In the old days, tire rotation usually included the spare to maximize tire life, but it was seldom replaced when the new set of tires were purchased.

The inside of that trunk looks pretty good to me. It is too bad about the rusty fenders. If he is right about the mechanical, floors, and frame it still should be worth repairing.
