IML: My "New" 1993 Imperial

Hello all:
I purchased that out of state 1993 Imperial and brought it back to Nashville; once some brake fluid was added, both the ABS and the brake light turned off; when we have tested it on a few hard stops, the ABS seems to work as it should; one or two of my friends (who driver newer, and lighter, vehicles) say that the brakes feel a little soft or mushy to them; the brake fluid level does not appear to have decreased in the 500 - 600 miles the car has been driven since I purchased it so my friends suggest that I may need to have the brakes bled.  The only other thing that does not seem to be working entirely right with the car is the interaction between the manual headlight control and the automatic headlight control; with the automatic headlight control turned off, and the timer slider set all the way to the left, the manual headlight control sometimes turns the headlights on and sometimes does not; the same is true when the manual headlight control is in the off position, and the automatic headlight control is turned on.  Would this be a matter which a dealer would be in the best position to diagnose?  Thank you for your assistance.
