I don't know if this is your problem, but last night at a cruise night I was talking to the owner of a 56 Imperial with a 354. He said that if he doesn't install "the little rubber boots" in the holes where the plugs go, oil will drain in and foul them up. He also mentioned the popping sound. Now I have no idea what these boots are-perhaps they seal out oil from the valve train? Todd |
