| Glenn, I do NOT believe that the local Dodge dealer will start
disassembling Virgil; if ONLY because it can't get any parts, any easier
than WE can.
Reading between the lines, the Dodge Dealer "looks" like it will
maintain POSSESSION/care over the car, which is not a bad thing, as the
car will probably be displayed prominently, AND, the "only" people who
would be "interested"  in the car would be Chrysler-people, or, @ least,
car-people.
Just like a newborn, Virgil will probably NOT be very photogenic, until
he gets cleaned-up.
I truly believe that, beyond keeping the doors open...( & losing that
"new" car smell---OH, how I would love to smell THAT, one more time!)...
the dealership will appreciate that it is merely storing the car. I hope
that Virg is being supported by his suspension, and not by his tires!
The BIGGEST 'worry', is if the dealership tries to get the car started
(using all the necessary/proper protocols).  It really should NOT try to
do anything, mechanical,  to the car, and it PROBABLY will not, because
it (as a business) would want to get PAID for its work, and I do not
believe that the City of Tulsa's Councilmen would vote to spend money on
doing anything to the car, beyond cleaning-it-up.
The FWDLK has @ least one member, who lives in T-Town, & I hope that he
would exert his concern/influence on the City/dealership involved, to
preserve the car.
NOBODY will officially own him, until all the (potentially
mind-boggling) litigation is settled, over his ownership (think about
that last-remaining Cobra Coupe----the litigants will believe that
Virgil is "priceless"---which he really IS) .
It is probable that Virgil will end up @ Barrett-Jackson; it is
un-likely that the Germans, who own Chrysler, would be willing to pay
1/2 MIL for him.
He would make QUITE a museum attraction.
As far as I know, the POC is planning on staying @ the Doubletree Hotel
; I wrote to Ms. Gwen Cairns, Pres of the POC, recently, & know of no
other close-by hotels.
As I have posted on the FWDLK's website,
if anyone even REMOTELY can be able to attend the Tulsa festivities, he
should make every effort to do so, as there probably will not be any
other FWDLK-gathering EVER, with as many attendees, as there will be, in
Tulsa.

Plymouth Owners Club, and felt I should share with you an article I just read on 
Page 4:   "This is the latest from Jerry Burch of the new 
Tulsa region in Oklahoma regarding next June's '57 Plymouth event in Tulsa: A 
motion was made to the Centennial Committee planning the event to secure the 
Convention Centre for Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, 2007. The POC 
(Plymouth Owner's Club) will locate across the street from most of the planned 
activities. There is an open car show proposed as part of the event weekend. If 
it takes place, it will be held on Saturday, a few blocks from the host hotel. 
Possibly we may want to hold a POC event at the host hotel, although it may 
provide us with somewhat less visibility. Or we may just join the open car show 
being planned. That will have to be determined in future planning by the POC 
board. As of now, here are some of the events the Tulsa 
Centennial Committee has planned: The Belvedere will be removced from the vault 
at the site on Friday. Because of limited safe viewing space, the unearthing 
will be covered via telecast. The '57 will then be moved to the arena on Friday 
evening, where it will be unveiled and put on display for the first time and can 
be viewed along with the contents placed in the car 49 years ago. After the 
Friday evening program, the Plymouth will be moved to the exibit hall for the 
close-up viewing on Saturday. There it will be displayed along with other 
automobiles and automotive displays. On Saturday evening, the car will be moved 
to a local Dodge dealer for an essessment of its condition. The Tulsa Region is 
also in the process of gathering information on area attractions that we hope 
will please any Plymouth owner who comes to the city for this 
happening."   WHOOP WHOOP!!! PULL UP PULL UP!!! "the car will be

   What the heck is this all about???!  This car doesn't deserve some snot nosed acne faced 
PT Cruiser apprentice mechanics crawling all over it, ripping the carpets up to 
laugh at the rusted floors and bouncing up and down on the seats, scrawling 
their names in the dust!  Maybe they will fit disc brakes and some 20 inch 
wheels while it is there...?  This car should not be tampered with, or even 
be cleaned!  It has earned every drop of moisture and defect 
over the past 49 years, and that is how it should stay forever-all oily and 
mouldy.  Not cleaned and polished so it looks like just 
another one of our restored cars. We have plenty of shiny restored cars to 
look at, there will never be another brand new car in this decayed looking 
condition ever again, and it should stay looking like this forever more, I 
reckon, for anyone to view.    I hope someone is going to step in and control 
this. It would be a shame to lose such a once in a lifetime relic to some 
clipboard toting committee fools who think they know better. Does anyone have any direct contact with the 
organisers of this event, to maybe sway their judgement and opinion? They need 
to be educated and directed in the right direction, to preserve this car exactly 
how it is. The organisers will not be car people, much less originality 
enthusiasts. There will never be a more original 57 Plymouth in the history of 
man, and it NEEDS to stay that way! It needs to be able to be viewed in 
exactly the condition it comes out of the ground. I believe that it should go to 
the Chrysler museum and be displayed as it is, along with all the memorabilia, 
videos/photos of the event etc, so that anyone who is not able to be in Tulsa in 
2007 can still see it in all it's unearthed (un)glory forever more. 
 And that is an unbiased opinion, because I for one
