One one of the two 4-digit numbers should be the date of assembly (10,000 
day calendar) while the other is the sequential production number for that 
day.   The second group is probably the date, but the numbers should be 
between approximately 5770 and 6130.

What year is this 318?  My eyes aren't that good anymore but the numbers I 
see are 8M31811283385.  What would be a good price to sell this complete 
motor, carb and transmission (with those exhaust parts on the engine)?
