I know that this is not on point but it is info that might be valuable to the group. I have a 1993 Caravan (3.0 - 3 speed auto) that developed a shudder in the transmission when accelerating and shifting at highway speeds. After having 2 transmission shops and 2 dealers try to sell me a rebuilt transmission, I learned (through the wonder of "them innernets") that the problem was the result of adding Dextron fluid instead of ATF +3, even though the owners manual says Dextron is ok. It seems that these tranny's are very sensitive to fluid types and levels and the ATF +3 has additives needed to keep the lock-up converter from shuddering. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE DEALERS TO KNOW THIS. I am sure that many thousands have been made changing fluid and charging for a new tranny - watch out if you have one of these.
