Not necessarily, Ric. Mine was leaking in a similar place, and it was the heater control valve that mounts on the passenger side of the firewall. Have a look up there with a torch. If it is that, they are available and easy to change over. Heater cores are able to be recored also if the problem is there. Glenn.
