I finally got my car (58 Savoy 2dr hdtp) home yesterday morning after a nerve wracking 9 month wait for it to arrive from the States, and started doing a little tidying up and pre-test work. When I was rummaging around under the dash sorting the horn wiring out, I noticed what looks like an 'extra' pedal under there. It looks a little like a parking brake pedal, and sits to the right of the accelerator, well out of view. Anyone tell me what this is? Another thing - at some point the car has been hit in the drivers door. The window won't wind up by the interior handle unless you actually 'help' it up, and the door won't latch on the second latch. Neither of the outside handles work for opening the doors. Could the latch be out of alignment on the drivers door? How easy are the handle/latch mechanisms to remove/work on? And finally, how interchangeable are door lock barrels on Mopars? Someone told me they were using the same design well into the Sixties, and my drivers door lock is missing. Thanks for any advice, Anthony Knight. PS Decided as soon as I got the car on the drive to give the mild custom look a miss - gotta be Christine....:-) |
