I have owned '58 & '59 Imperials and a '61 New Yorker with vintage belts...
they are all different. I believe most belts were added at the dealership.
So, the dealer had the option of installing Mopar accessories or something
else. The 1960 Mopar Accessory catalog lists seat belts as a single item,
i.e. one per person. Part number 1902 277, retail $12.50, cost $8.33. Rear
seat and Simca part number 2161 368, retail $12.20, cost $8.13.
There is a special listing for '59 & '60 Imperial front seat belts. They
were sold as a pair, part number 1902 291, retail $23.95, cost $15.95
No mention is given to color, but the cars I own have matching colored webbing.
I'm sure a dealer would heve installed any number of belts a customer requested.
The bottom line is that just about any kind of belt that was available in
'61 will be authentic. I think the best kind are the chrome buckle type
similar to ones used in airplanes. Also, make sure you've got enough
webbing if you plan on using a baby seat.
