Thanks to those who gave input on my radio question. I opened the cases and they both have 5 tubes inside plus three on the back making 8. I also talked to a guy who has been repairing older radios for years and he told me that the 8-tube radio had push buttons while the 6-tube had none. The model number beginning with an "8" means 8-tube. Apparently the search tune radios were first available in '56 so there are no 6-volt search tunes. I guess I can stop looking for one now! Robert
