[FWDLK] AMT 300-C model

 Good golly buy Wal-Mart stock!  They'll be selling ton's of
these 300C models.  Got mine this a.m. too here in beautiful
downtown Kerrville, TX.  Several more on the shelf.  I'm the
only guy in town who knows what a '57 Chrysler 300C is anyway.
Classes start in the fall.
I thought they could have given us two side view mirrors like
the car shown on the box, but no, just one.  They do give 4 tail
light lenses though.  They'll have to explain that one.  The
tires are modern BF Goodrich wide whites, probably modeled right
from the replacement tires on their sample car.
Its a manual window car by the handles molded into the door
panels.  They went to a LOT of trouble to give chassis detail
with individual suspension parts but my frame is probably warped
10" (in scale).
There are dual rear seat speakers as the original may have had,
but no rear defroster, which it must not.
I was looking for the spare tire cover amongst the parts until I
realized there was no need - because there is no spare tire!
Details, you want details?  They even molded the Pep Boys rubber
front and rear floor mats into the carpeted floor, just like
their sample car.  Hey, that's detail!  I was looking for curb
feelers or a jack-in-the-box antenna ball, but no such luck.

I've spent $9 far more foolishly than this though.  I'm very
happy to see the model.

 Got my AMT 300C model at Wal-Mart about half hour ago. $8.88,
store had
ONE. Asked at my Hobby dealer where I have a case of each on
order; "not
expected for two months"!!!
Skill level 2, all parts light grey, w/ chrome tree, clear f/r
windows,
red tailights (4!) and "whitewall inserts"---that are grey on
separate
tree(?).
All side trim and medallions CAST into fender. Box says "329
c.i. V-8".
Have not looked real close yet, but just noticed it says, "paint
inside of
hood TEXTURED area flat black"....... And, my decal sheet is
blank!
