Hi! My name is Clare, and I just joined today as we have recently
inherited my
parents car. We are curious to find a network of people who
know about the places you can get work done, etc. Also, we are curious
about what it is actually worth as I can't even find another one on the
internet.
It is a lovely 1957 Dodge Coronet hardtop. She has all the original
paint, and equipment. (except obviously brakes, belts. Had to
make her go, ya know!)
She has about 42,000 original miles on her. My mom had left
the car in the garage for about 30 years.
We made the mistake of trusting a local classic car repair
restoration place which took us for a lot of money and did
nothing. Well, we did get a list of what needed
done, don't know how much exactly that cost! So, we are leary
now and trying to find reputable companies who can do minor
repairs. One thing we need to find is a
place to fix the floor. The upholstery is perfect, but the
floor stuff (not sure what it's called, similar to linoleum) is
in need of some help.
I am curious to find out what kind of experts are on this list! Do you
all have classic cars? Are you into the club thing?
My husband and I both enjoy classic cars, he truly loves them. I think
he would think he had gone to heaven if we could ever get a classic
station wagon. Other cars in the house are a 92 Cadillac Seville we got
for a steal, and my new baby a Chrysler 300M. Also very nice. My
parents 57 still runs like new though. It's amazing. She has awesome
power as well and drives wonderfully.
