[FWDLK] 1960 Chrysler 300F Literature

There is a piece of literature that was printed for the 300F
which is uncommon, or perhaps downright rare.
It measures 15 5/8" x 11 3/8" and is a folded single sheet of
paper printed in gray tones with some dark blue text on the
cover and medium blue highlighting inside and back cover. In
the center fold out, R.M Rodger, Chief Engineer, is shown seated
at the wheel of a 400HP -4speed car and the Pont-a-Mousson
transmission is pictured from under the car. It is stated that:
"This engine and manual transmission will be in limited
production in 1960."

The cover features a shot of a dark (but not black) 300F
convertible with top down taken from above the right rear side
of the car. Of particular interest to this piece is that the
car shown has what appears to be a stick shift coming out of the
console. Gil Cunningham will tell you that this is known to
be a doctored photo from Chrysler's photo and advertising
departments. The shifter is too straight, angled wrong, and
coming out of the ash tray opening. This is NOT proof of a
second F Special, P-a-M 4speed-equipped car besides the existing
white F Special convert in Georgia.

There are AT LEAST three DIFFERENT printings of this folder.

1. "Chrysler New Model News" that on the back page a 6" x 4"
box is titled "Special Features".

2. "Auto Show News" that on the back page a 6" x 4" box is
titled "Visit Your Nearest Dealer Listed Below for a
Demonstration". The list is of DETROIT area dealers.

3. "Auto Show News" that on the back page a 6" x 4" box is
titled "Visit Your Nearest Dealer Listed Below for a
Demonstration". The list is of CHICAGO area dealers.

If you have one of these folders with ANYTHING ELSE in the back
page box, I would appreciate hearing about it as well as
receiving by e-mail attachment or fax (830-896-1773) or
photocopy, a copy of the list area of the back page. I have
originals of the first two listed and a copy of the third.

Thank you.
