.....every single time I drive it, something else goes wrong!! About two weeks ago I took it to a local restaurants first cruise night. It started right up after sitting for a few weeks. I think all the wires we reconnected finally fixed the battery drain problem. Anyway, we had a nice dinner and chat with other car owners, drove home, rolled up the windows and behold; the drivers side window is cracked all the way across with an actual hole at the bottom rear. It has to go to the glass shop to finish putting the chrome around the windows anyway (I gave up on that) so I figure "oh well". Now, two weeks go by and last Wednesday I get home from work and we decide to take both cars up to the cruise. The Belvedere was dead, so I jump started it with my truck and drove to town. I thought "bummer, must not have all the electrical done after all". Anyway, after dinner the car was still dead. We hooked it up to a 66 Catalina and no go. One guy had a used police car with high output alt and we hooked it up to that. After a couple minutes, it started up. On the way home, I had the parking lights on and the turn signals quit working. My wife (following in her VW) told me the taillights were so dim she could hardly tell they were on. I am guessing now that this is unrelated to my previous electrical problems. What might cause the battery (fairly new) to completely die. I have been having intermittent starter, starter cellinoid problems. When you try starting it, the starter just whines on the first attempt and then it engages. Once the cellinoid was clicking and I had to tap it. Could they drain the battery dead and keep it dead, or is it most likely a problem with the generator? Thanks.
