The Plymouth Mayflower ship emblem introduced in 1928 was shown sailing away
(fantail or stern showing) until 1959 when this time shown sailing toward
the viewer ( bow forward). It was not used at all on the 58 Plymouths and
the 57 version is hard to recognize as a ship. Also I believe 1959 was the
last year the emblem appeared on the Plymouth. (or did Neon use it in
advertising??) Being an ex-sailor (not quite the Mayflower era) I found
this info interesting. I pointed this out to a '38 Plymouth (hot rod) owner
last week at a car show and he was "astonished" at this info and his wife
remarked that if I was this "knowledgedlble" about Plymouths that I would
find things wrong with their car - I told them their car was great - with
one exception - it had a 350 Ch"*y engine in it - don't they all. Anyway -
just a little trivia you can play around with. Quiz time - can anybody tell
me where I obtained this valuable bit of trivia information????? John Z in
