If you mean the polypropylene glycol type (Sierra, etc) I'd say use it. It not only is safer for the environment but it will clean out whatever is deposited in your system from the old type. I've used it on all my cars from my '47 Plymouth on up for years. If toy use Sierra, which is clear, remember to tell your mechanic. If he works on your system and empties your radiator he will think it's dirty water and throw it.
