[FWDLK] Automatic Car Watch

With all the knowledge out there I wonder if someone can help me out.  My mother-in-law gave me a box of stuff from her garage and among the things in box was a "Automatic Car Watch" built by the Maar Automatic Car Watch Corp, NY, NY.  Its actually a self winding clock that attaches to cars steering wheel.  It winds itself when wheel is turned.  In the instructions it shows clock attached to various steering wheels (notably Pontiac and Ford)  with speedometers showing 160 and 180 mph.  Wheels appear to be from late 40's to early 50's.  Has anybody any knowledge of these clocks and when they were used?  The ironic thing is within the last 2 weeks I remember seeing an advertisement or info on these clocks in some publication, but can't recall which one.  Its driving me buggy now since I discovered I actually have one.  Thanks in advance for any info.   John Z in Mosinee, WI
