First of all, better check what you are buying as Chrysler never built a
Saratoga convertible. In 1960, Chrysler convertibles came as Windsor
(1,467), New Yorker (556) or 300-F (248). In 1961, the
convertibles were Newport (2,135), New Yorker (576) and 300-G (337).
The 1962 line included Newport (2,051), 300 (1,971) and 300-H (123)
convertibles.
The 1962 models are easy to tell - they have no fins. The 1961 and
1962 Chryslers shared the front end sheetmetal with canted,
stacked headlamps. Also, the Saratoga series was dropped in the U.S.
at the end of 1960 although Chrysler Canada continued to use the Saratoga name
through 1965. There were no Saratoga convertibles in Canada,
either.
As for the dome on the instrument panel, it was used from 1960 to 1962, so
with a bit of searching one could be found.

Subject: [FWDLK] Saratoga....
Hello everyone. I found a 61 or
62 Saratoga convertible yesterday. Before I squander any money, how hard
is it going to be to find the plastic bubble thing that covers the gauges
between the steering wheel and the dash? This on has a couple of holes in
it. On the chrome subject, would it be viable for a person to strip the
chrome and fill in pits on various peices before going to the plater? Is
this something an individual would be able to do, or is it better left to
a shop? Thanks for any help. Ray 59 Coronet Kansas
