They tow you 100 miles anywhere you want to go for free.
Besides that,
What excatly did the mechanic say is wrong with the engine that it needs a
complete rebuild. Did the overheating crack the block or something ?
I would try not to sell the cars. You and your son have probably become much
closer together by working on this car.
Maybe if the motor is deemed no good, you could just keep the project going
and pull the motor yourself and have it rebuilt and put it back in yourself.
It's not really that difficult if you take time and patience. There's
actually not alot of stuff to disconnect on these old cars to get the motor
out. I bet in a little while, the list could come up with step by step, bolt
by bolt instruction on how to remove it.. I'm not sure if you have the room.
I wish I lived closer to you, I'd come over and we could have the motor out
in a night.
Isn't there anyone on this list that lives close enough to help these folks
out. It would be an absolute crying shame to see these folks have to get rid
of this car because of something like this
