[FWDLK] 1958 Dodge

I just purchased a 1958 Dodge Regal Lancer 2 door hard top. It is currently
in #5 condition but has a solid body and has 95% of the body and chrome
parts.  The seller was very proud of the fact that the 318 ci engine had
been rebuilt so when I told him it was not the correct engine he lowered the
price.  I told him I believed the 58 Dodge came with a 325 ci poly engine
with a high intake and you could order a 350 ci or a 361 ci wedge engine.  I
am not completely sure what the D-500 package was but maybe a list member
can fill me in on the correct engines and about the D-500 engine package.
Also according to a book I have "Cars of the Fabulous '50s" just 1163 Regal
Lancers were produced.  Is this true?  Have I come up with a rare vehicle?
If true what would be the correct engine for this car?

Thanks for any and all info about this car.  I have been on the look out for
a 1957 or 1958 Plymouth 2 door hard top or convertible I could afford for a
number of years and when I came across this Dodge which was in my price
range I decided I could not pass it by.
