This is an area very prone to rust.  I think the best solution is to find rust free replacements. Find out which makes/models cross-reference with your car.  All 57-9 Mopar Hardtops and Conv's (except Imperial) use the same part, for example.

I don't have a fix but I have the same problem with my 56 Firedome. Let me know how to fix this problem.

I pulled my front seat out of my 1957 Desoto today. The bottoms of the seat
mounts were so rusty that three of the mounting studs broke off. Does anyone
have a fix for this or is there a replacement part available? My car is a
four door sedan. Jason
