[FWDLK] Re-doing the horn ring pad on a 59 Dodge

Has anyone had success in re-doing the pad on the 59 Dodge horn ring? All I have is the ring. The padding, with the clips, is long gone. I am just curious if anyone has had success in making up there own, that looks good.

 

Also, would the pad be a few select colors (i.e.. black) or would it match the color of your interior (in my case, dk. blue)??
