[FWDLK] Paint color

On my 56 Dodge, which is still original paint, the entire trunk is painted
the same gloss color (charcoal metallic) as the top side of the trunk lid.
The underside of the hood is painted the same color (oriental coral) as the
front fenders, but the top is charcoal metallic. The lower body color
(oriental coral) was applied first and the middle color (charcoal metallic)
over that. The underside of the hood is very flat everywhere, but that may
be as painted or the result of engine heat and no wax. The underside of the
floor and the wheels are painted a gloss gray, which reminds me of
"battleship gray" in color. Only the outer 2 inches of the wheels were
painted white to match the roof, since the rest is covered by the wheel
covers.

Every trunk or underhood I've ever seen is gloss and the
same shade of grey.  My '42 DeSoto is identical to what my
'55 DeSoto originally was.  The paint guy had mine measured
with a spectroscope and new paint mixed to the same color.
