1961 Plymouth Savoy Mexican Road Race Car
Two-door post sedan, titled and registered in California, set up with all the necessary competition equipment required for La Carrera Panamericana (The Mexican Road Race) and street equipment. Plymouth 440 wedge engine, with Cross Ram Induction two four barrel carburetors, four speed manual transmission; Est. over 400 HP, over 500 ft. lbs. Torque (car weight same as Dodge Viper). Competed in October of 2000 La Carrera and has been freshened up and readied for 2002 event. An excellent opportunity to get and enter a sorted and proven car in the most exciting road event still being run. Complete file with car of all the equipment installed for the race as well as the original owners manual; with invoices totaling much more than car will be selling for here.
A partial list of the Race equipment installed; Steel roll cage; Disk brakes with proportion valve; Fire extinguisher ? ignition shut off switch; Five point professional seat belts and window netting; Panoramic rear view mirrors; Electric fuel pump; Sway bars; Fuel cell, large capacity; Special exhaust system; Lettering and decals required for the 2000 event, and much, much more.
