Re: [FWDLK] 57 Belvedere Hemi Commando?

Hi all
I believe there were a number of one off dealer installed high performance
engines/parts added to the 50's Chrysler,Desoto,Plymouth,Dodge line of cars.
There are a number of cars still in existance with documentation to prove
this. Always wondered if the dealers had to conform to any rules/regulations
enforced by the factory when installing these "extras" ? Afterall if a
customer comes into a dealership with a bucket full of money demanding a '57
hemi powered Fury, wouldn't the dealer go out of his way to accommodate his
needs?
Also interested to know if y'all regard a factory optioned car superior to a
dealer optioned car??
Thanks.
