I use 10w30 Valvoline in my 59 Plymouth 318 with no problems (drive it everyday). I have a friend who has never changed over to the multi viscostiy oils in his cars. He continues to use straight 30 weight Pennzoil in his cars. When the subject comes up he points to his 72 Olds with 225,000 miles. That engine (455) does sound sweet. He also has a '61 Chevy (original family car) that has always used the straight weight oil.
