Didn't MB and VW use a mechanical fuel injection setup for a while? it was
like a distributor for individual fuel lines that went to each cyl.
There was a mechniacal electronic hybrid on my 1985 MB 190 that boasted if
there was an electronice failure it would still run because of the
mechanical fuel injectors.

I for one, would love to see more on these fuel injection systems. I'm a
Mercedes mechanic, and Mercedes used an electronic system in the early
seventies, but went to the Bosch CIS (Constant Injection System), after
having problems with the early (crude) electronics.Imagine what Chrysler was
