[FWDLK] introduction - '61 Dodge

This is long overdue but thought I better do it anyway. My name is Fred Loosbrock, 26, live in Olathe, KS (Kansas City) & build scale models & model railroads fulltime. I purchased a 1961 Dodge Phoenix convertible last summer and it appears to be almost completely original - white, red interior, was a white top. Currently has a 1959 Plymouth 318 sitting in it that needs rebuilt w/ original '61 Dodge heads & auto transmission. Body is near perfect w/ no dings or rust except for some small holes in the trunk floor. Interior is excellent original w/ a little fading on the tops of the seats (is there any spray dye or anything out there to bring it back to life?). Plans are just to get it running for now & enjoy it. Perhaps a quick Maaco paint job (silver maybe?) until I can afford my dream restoration of 1957 Chevy Dusk Pearl w/ white interior and wide whitewalls of course. I've always wanted "Christine" and a '61 Phoenix 2 dr ht but couldn't pass up a convertible. When I first go!
t it I sat in it & "dreamed" for a couple hours. Then I woke up. My first car was a '57 Chevy which I still have & had it restored by someone else but would like to try & do this one myself. I spend more time sitting in my Dodge than I do driving my Chevy. Anyway I'm sure I'll be asking for advice down the line. So far I've already learned a lot! Thanks!
