I had no idea that pay -pal would undo the transaction, in fact I contacted
them before one of my deals and they assured me that once the $$ was in you
r account the deal was final.

Actually, my brother sells a lot on Ebay and he refuses to send out anything
big or expensive with payment from paypal. The reason is because a number of
people have paid through credit card on paypal, only to refute the payment
on their bill or to dump the credit card altogether. Thus, the credit card
takes the money back from paypal, and paypal takes the money back from the
seller. If you don't have a balance in the account when this happens and
they don't have any of your credit card info, it is harder for paypal to get
it out of you, but this is not usually the case. This typically happens more
than a month later. It is left to the seller to work it out. Paypal and Ebay
obviously discourage this behavior from buyers, but they can not do much
about it except to terminate the buying privileges of that email address.
For expensive items, he always insists on a personal check. That way, if it
is bad, he is only out $20 for the bank fee. People are not usually that
dumb to se!
nd a bad personal check if they know that the item will not be sent until
it clears.
Everything is opposite for low dollar items. Then checks are real pain and
paypal is best.

I guess they are just like e-bay in that respect, but as the seller you are
certain that you have the money credited to your account and it cant be
un-done after the item is gone.

I question if paypal is that good. Got taken by a seller who didn't ship
after I paid with paypal and they were no real help at all.
