Anyone in the Midwest (near Ohio) have a good, rebuilt Powerflite for a 59 Dodge V8, or know of a place that might have one for sale? My tranny shop opened the transmission and said it had "significant" debris (clutch materals and "metal"), and that it might be cheaper to find another before they get into it to diagnose the problems. If not a swap who is a good source for Powerflite parts (Northwest)?
Any thought on what problems there might be on a car that sat for some time (probably long enough for the fluid to separate - maybe leading to failure?), but only has about 39k? When I drove the car it slipped a little, and had no power transferral (from engine to trans?).
They are talking about $1000+/- for a rebuild and about $300 for a swap if I can find the trans. Is that about right for prices for those who have been there?
