Ever thought of doing it the easy
way?!
First locate the lower shoe, this includes the
fitting of the peg, spring & washer. Then locate the springs in situ to the
lower shoe. Locate the other ends of the springs to the upper shoe whilst
holding it and at this point you will find that by lifting up the
upper shoe & then taking it over into the locating slots. ie the forked
cylinder peg & the adjuster groove, it will locate very easily. Having done
two full brake rebuilds this year, on both the 60 Imperial & 59 Pontiac,
this method works best for me.
