Lou, I agree with Ron, except that I'd paint all my underhood stuff gloss black, those pieces will get dirty-enuf, soon enuf, so that the gloss will lose some of its gloss, but still be shiney. just don't CLEAR COAT anything, under there, ESPECIALLY, the heater-housing!! IMHO, NOTHING looks so-cheesy, "short-cutted" and "un-knowledgeable", and/or commercial-sale/profit-oriented (take your 'pick'!) as a clear-coated heater-housing. BTW, in 57 - 58, the generator WAS painted a semi-gloss/satin, but its end-plates were natural-finish. Most people (incl moi) apply Eastwood's "bare-cast-iron" paint to the exhaust manifolds--they're a dead-giveaway, but they're prettier than (correct) rusty-manifolds--and they're not very-visible, on our cars. You want a JOB???--try keeping your carburetor(s) looking "factory-new"!!
