[FWDLK] 57 Dodge Pickup

I am looking to purchase a 57 Dodge pickup with a straight six. I would like to have a v8 in it, but was wondering how much trouble it would be to transplant a v8 into a straight six equipped truck. Are the suspensions the same between the two? Are motor mounts a big hassle? Would I be better off waiting to find a V8 version? Any info is appreciated.
