The aluminum case A904 Torqueflite was introduced in 1960 along with the slant six. That was the first Torqueflite mated to a six cylinder engine. Prior to 1960 Torqueflite was only available with a V8 engine. In 1959 Powerflite was available on both six and eight cylinder engines but in 1960 Powerflite became a V8-only unit. So that 1961 6-cylinder Seneca has an A904 Torqueflite.
