I believe that's the dealer add-on power assist unit.  At least it looks a lot like the device that a friend claimed was dealer add-on on his car.  As for how that one works.....uhm.... you step on the pedal, the car stops. The rest is magic as far as I know. :-)

I know this is some sort of a brake "booster", - but could someone tell me
how it works? - as well as what cars came equipped with it.  Advantages?
(looks to me like it might clear "Ram Induction" a little better than
