Let's try that again.
After reading all of this I just had to relate the story of my mother. Now, my mom is no car collector, but she enjoys sailing. My parents have a small sailboat (14ft) in the front yard, on the side opposite the driveway, under a tree (actually chained to the tree). So, it is on the far right side of the property. The boat itself is covered, but is visible from the street.
Well, about 10 yrs ago, one of the neighbors (and not one of the ones that adjoin the property) began to complain about the boat. So, after one particularly harassing discussion, my Mom decided to do something. She went down to the local Wal-Mart and bought every Pink Plastic Flamingo that she could get her hands on, as well as all of the Sunflower spinners (used to chase animals away from gardens, but appears to be a large yellow sunflower), and every other lawn ornament she could get her hands on (gnomes, frogs, you name it.). Then, that night, she and Dad set it all up.
The next morning there was a prompt banging on the front door by the complaining neighbor. Of course he wanted to know about the sudden appearance of the 'flock' of Flamingo, field of Sunflowers, etc. My mother told him that there was no law against people decorating their lawns, and that if he did not shut up about them and the boat, that she would paint the house bright pink with purple polka dots! Well, the neighbor left in a huff. A week went by, and Mom took down the display, and she never heard a word about the boat again.
BTW- the boat is still there to this day, though Mom and Dad are now to old to enjoy it, so it really has been sitting for a while.
So, anyway, just thought all of you might find some amusement in this story.
