Re: [FWDLK] 1957 Plymouth Serial Numbers explained?/58 Imperial again

---VIN tag reads:  16358329   - no suffix, prefix. it shows "serial numbers changed at each factory as follows" and lists various groups for 6 and V8 at each plant.  It then gives a listing for Fury V8 serial numbers, and that is where my confusion arises - the serial number falls into the group shown for Fury V8's.---snip

All '57 Furys were made in Detroit.  Other models were also made in the Detroit plant, too.  All V8 Plymouths made in Detroit in '57 had VINs that started 16xxxxxx.  Other factories used number sequences that started differently:  Evansville 22xxxxxx and LA 26xxxxxx.

So the only unique information you can gather from your VIN of 16358329 is that it is a V8 1957 Plymouth (no model specified) and was made in Detroit.
