Re: [FWDLK] Steering box - please note---

I have been debating about doing this on my '59 Dodge. It is a frame off, so
now is as good a time as any. On the other hand, there are plenty of other
places for the money to be spent. I have heard that, generally speaking, the
boxes rarely need done. I bought the rubber piece from Burnbaum and think I
will hope that fixes the play I have in my steering. Of course, I rebuilt
the rest of the fount end.

Steering box rebuilds may not be needed - keep in mind the rubber
insulator between the box and the steering shaft at the input. This is
an inexpensive part [Burnbaum,Goers] that tricks many folks into
expensive, unnecessary rebuilds.
