I've had my 59 Dodge for 10 years now and a few other foward looks, and they all do the same thing at the gas pump. I've tried the going slow thing, the listening thing, the 3/4 thing, but what i have been doing, is going into the shop and getting a big wad of paper towels, i wrap it around the nozzle after its in the pipe and kinda make a tight seal, so whatever spurts out, is absorbed, then i just thow the towel away. Works every time.
