Re: [FWDLK] Plugged indices

Regarding this thread I had decided to use platinum spark plugs on my D500-1 engine. I was using an Autolite 303 plug as prescribed by my engine builder, it is a cold plug and is good at high rpm. The Bosch equivalent, I don't recall the number, boasted a dual feature plug that was extended a bit but remained cool at high rpm. My car had a couple of years on the 303 plugs but not many miles and it ran well so it was just a maintenance change. When I installed the Bosch plugs it ran fine at low rpms but missed at high rpms so I put a set of new 303 plugs in and its was fine. Anyone care to guess the reason? I think the extended tip may have been getting blown out by being to far into the Hemi chamber. Whatever the case it illustrated to me the sensitivity of spark plug types to an engine. Thanks Tim
