Okay, So what exactly is the "trick" to getting the ignition lock cylinder out? It sticks in my mind that there's a little hole you can stick a paper clip into on the front of the cylinder that will release it, **but** that the trick only works if you have the proper key inserted. Can you get it out easily otherwise? Enquiring minds want to know!! Thanks gang. Best Regards, Thomas F. A problem I had was that the door locks were worn and he needed the ignition lock to make a key. Actually, on our cars it's easier to get the ignition switch out and back in than the door lock. Not sure about the "lovebox lock" I've been looking for that key for a long time! There are too many permutations. However, here's another approach: remove the cylinder from one door. Take it to a locksmith, together with an appropriate key blank. The locksmith should be able to take that cylinder apart, and, based on the pins, make a key that will fit it - (and thus will also fit the ignition lock). You can also remove the lovebox lock and use that to have him make you a key that will fit it - and the trunk lock. All you will need to get, for the locksmith, is correct key blanks for that year car, which can usually be found on eBay. Hi, I'm getting a little tired of working on my '58 Dodge Sierra with it 'hot wired'/toggle switch under the hood, and it is about time to try and find some keys to fit it! Does anyone have a large selection of 'forward look keys' that they would be willing to 'loan' for a day or two so I can try and find one that works? Thx!
