Re: [FWDLK] 56 Dodge 2x4s

Paul,

There were 2 aluminum 2x4 intakes made for the 56 and 57 Dodge 315/325
Hemi/Poly engine. The first one is Mopar P/N 1733878. It was made for Karl
Kiekhaefer's NASCAR Dodges. About 100 were produced. I have one that is NOS.
The second manifold is made by Offenhauser. It was used on the 57 Super D500
factory production cars. This manifold is still available new from Offy.
Offy also makes a 3x2 manifold for 3 bolt carb bases and another for 4 bolt
carb bases.

One should also note that the 2x4 Plymouth manifold on eBay is ALUMINUM, not
cast iron. The aluminum version is rare, the cast iron is common.

There WAS a 2x4 Dodge "factory" aluminum intake manifold made.
It was generally reguarded as the 'NASCAR" ( acutally I think it was
AAA racing) I heard a report that there were VERY few of those made.
I DO NOT know if this is one of those, if it were then maybe less then
100 made
