Try loosening and retightening the screws holding
the tail light assembly to the car, sometime the ground connection is corroded
and needs to be re-established. You can use a test light to connect the bulb
housing to a good ground, the test light will light if the ground is bad,
naturally the light has to be on for this test to work. The tail light portion
of the bulb may appear to work making you think the ground is OK but it may be
getting a complete circuit through the brake light filament.

Coronet
I replaced the bulb in my right
rear tail light, brake light, turn signal socket. The tail light
function works but no light on turn signal. The right front turn signal
light flutters. The turn signal relay audible clicks once
and stops. Left side works fine. Any trouble shooting hints
here? Tom
