Guys, It is not just a simple matter of Bias vs. Radial tires. Other factors enter into satisfactory performance of a tire, like tread pattern, rubber compound softness, sidewall stiffness, and driving style. A quality Bias may out perform a cheap Radial, and vice versa. If you had a bad experience with Radials on a ForwardLook car, it may not be that all Radials are bad, just the radials you had were bad. If you go from quality to poor quality, regardless of radial to bias or bias to radial, you will have a bad experience and think the new type of tires are bad for a FW car. And just the opposite opinion from poor quality to quality. On my daily driver, I have had radials (Michelin) that are stiff in the sidewall and handle superb, and radials that are soft and cause under/over steer and sway on corners. Hard rubber compounds that wear forever but are slippery on ice (here in Minnesota), and soft rubber (Blizaks) that sticks like glue. Coker tires (bias AND radial), as well as most other repo tires, are designed for looks, not performance. Their performance may be average or much below when compared to quality modern driver radials or even bias tires. I prefer radials myself, but there are things to be said for both types. I have radials on a couple of cars, bias plys on others. It really is a matter of personal choice. -Dave -----Original Message----- From: Ron Stewart [mailto:rstewart@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2006 7:53 PM To: Dave Stragand; L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx; goldenfin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx; Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] Coker Tire 'Club Discount' ordering information do they offer anew tire for the c300? if not the old bias belt rubber was like russian roullet driving on ice , ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1 ************************************************************* To unsubscribe or set your subscription options, please go to http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=l-forwardlook&A=1
