I've driven over 100,000 on original '57 Plymouth rims with radial tires and never had a problem,even drag racing but if this is a concern to anyone I recommend sending your original wheels to a company like Wheel Vintiques and having the outer rim replaced with a new one using the old centers.That way the original mounting pin will work(newer Mopar rims wont fit our cars with stock drums due to the locator pin/lug bolt set up),it also won't affect the original look of your cars since that seems to be a major factor with purist.I don't know what that will cost but they are extremely reasonably priced on selling custom offset/chrome wheels so I'm sure a service like that would be cheap.They made the chrome reverse wheels for my Fury and the quality of work is top notch and as I said before you can't beat their prices.
